Sunday night I got a call from the missionaries. There was a member of the ward with a sick child, but they had nobody’s phone number except the missionaries. It was 9:30 at night, and I believe I was the first person they called. Turns out it was the Jones family. Their oldest boy, Junior, was sick. Really sick. The missionaries said that Jenny’s dad was on his way, and asked if I could go, too.
Jon and I got dressed and went over there. The poor kid was practically catatonic. They’d gone to CMH, but nothing came of it. Not sure why.
I anointed, and Jenny’s dad blessed. It was a wonderful blessing. Before we left, James checked Junior’s temp…it was 103.5!!!
I told them I’d check back in on Monday and bring them a ward directory, since they had none. When I got there, I asked about Junior. They’d gone to their regular doctor. It turned out to be Strep Throat and Croup. And his fever was gone!
It was a miracle at the hand of the Lord…via the priesthood.
Funny thing is that that was not the first blessing I was asked to do that day. Earlier, Ben Hubner had called me to go with him to the Overfelt’s house. Busy day!
