Torrie and Travis were here last night for dinner and FHE. Afterwards, Tassie and Torrie went to CVS to get some band-aids for Tassie’s cut finger… Travis stayed at the house, and I knew what was coming.
Surprisingly to me, he got right to it. I thought he’d hem and haw a bit, as I imagine I would have, but he didn’t. He started off by saying that I probably heard from Liz that he wanted to speak with me. (He’d texted her and asked her to let me know he wanted to speak with me)
He continued by stating that we probably knew that he and Torrie were dating, and it was getting serious…that she was his favorite person (and acknowledged that she was probably one of our favorite people) and that after much prayer and confirmation, he wanted to ask for our permission to ask her to marry him.
I told him that Tassie and I had talked about it, as we’d seen this coming, and that we were fine with it, but we were concerned about her finishing school. Having quit before I was done, I was very concerned that she would not return if she left. He said that he for sure wanted her to finish, too.
I also mentioned money, and while I am sure he has good intentions, it will, for sure, be tough for them. 2 broke college kids…sounds a bit cliche…They don’t have a car or savings, either…or a real plan.
Sounds a bit like Tassie and I.
