Let me just take a minute on this Christmas eve/morning to give some credit. I dont live at home, and havent seen my mom for about a week. Within the last week she got surgery on her shoulder for a torn cuff or something.
I get home tonight to celebrate Christmas with my parents, and come time for bed, my dad grabs pillows and blankets to give to my mom (sitting on the couch) and some for him, for our other couch. Because my mom had surgery, she cannot lay in bed, my dad sleeps on the other couch (which happens to be significantly smaller than he is) so he can make sure she is taken care of at all times of the night.
My father may not be able to beat anybody up, has never made millions of dollars, or drive a fancy car, but to me, he is a real man. He has shown me an amazing example of how to respect a woman, and I hope to one day live up to his name.
